We are getting married this spring in the desert

We are inviting you to join our wedding
that will take place in Catalina Sate Park, in Tucson Arizona
on April 6th-7th, 2020.

This will be an outdoor wedding in the wild,
with delicious Mexican food, bonfires, camping,
and even a hike (optional) to gorgeous natural pools hidden in the mountains

Ceremony followed by party, food, and festivities.


The night of April 6th

All guests are invited to either camp in our adjoined group camp sites,
or book a nearby hotel or Airbnb.
You could even look into renting and staying in an RV in the campground
for some hardcore glamping!

Average temperature in April are highs of 82 F (27 C) during the day
and lows of 54 F (12 C) at night.
Bring layers, we will be outside the entire time.
We will have fires, blankets (and tequila) for warmth!

If you are camping with us, you can bring your own gear or rent things out from Summit Hut.

If you need assistance, please let us and we will help you out with gear.

Hike to Romero Pools!

You can join just for breakfast, or for part of the hike, or all of the hike.

Romero pools

This is a 5.5-mile hike round-trip.

We end up at a beautiful area with
a lot of big granite pools to swim and splash in.

The hike does have some relatively steep (1500 ft) climb and rocky parts,
but the wildflowers and cactus blooms should be spectacular.

The hike takes about 3 hours total (without the time at the pools)
so we expect to be back in the mid afternoon.

(NO) Dress Code

This is very important: BE COMFORTABLE.

There is no need to dress up, look good, or be fancy. Please wear what you are most comfortable in.
If that means you show up in pajamas or a giant dinosaur costume, please do so.
We love you as you are and welcome all kinds of weirdness. Just remember layers.

 

While in Tucson

We list many recommendations of places to eat and things to do. We understand many people are traveling for this wedding,
and we will be in Tucson a week before and after to spend as much time as possible with anyone who is around!

Nature around Tucson

The nature around Tucson is absolutely gorgeous and special. There are plenty of great places to visit both for the views, to learn, and to hike. Our favorites include:

  • The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum – learn about the Sonoran desert and watch animals, cacti, and fascinating bugs
  • Gates Pass – the best sunsets in the Milky Ways galaxy (note that it’s pretty close to the desert museum and you can combine them both on the same day).
  • Biosphere 2 – fascinating research facility that is experimenting on various ecosystems. Its original goal was to prepare humans for space travel
  • Mount Lemmon – enjoy a cool mountain breeze with a marvelous view of the desert at more than 9,000 ft above sea level
  • Pima Air & Space Museum – one of the largest air & space museums in the world
  • Tucson Botanical Gardens – a beautiful place
  • Sabino Canyon Seven falls – a gorgeous hike to seven falls
  • Saguaro National Park – see this amazing density of 1.8 million saguaro cacti as high as buildings!
  • Tohono Chul – we’ve both never been there but Noelle is forcing me to add it to this site because it looks cool

  • Che’s Lounge – grungy and awesome
  • Sky Bar – a solar powered Cafe by day and astronomy bar at night
  • The Loft Cinema – an independent alternative theater
  • Hotel Congress – the historical Hotel Congress is one of the coolest places to hangout
  • The Buffet – the oldest and diviest bar in Tucson.
    DO NOT EAT THE PICKLED EGGS!
    (Or if you do make sure you had enough whiskey to kill anything you might contract from them)
  • Borderlands brewing Co. – an excellent local brewery
  • 47 Scott & Co. – classy cocktails for the fancier type. But let’s be real… It’s Tucson classy…
